Adult RailCamp

NRHS

 

The National Railway Historical Society is conducting a drive among members and Chapters to raise funds to provide scholarships for needy RailCampers. Some local Chapters award a scholarship to a RailCamper from the local area. Applications for scholarship assistance are available upon request. Contact the NRHS at and request an application. You may ask any questions about the scholarships at this same address.

The RailCamp scholarships we are currently aware of are:

  • Washington, D.C. Chapter NRHS - For Basic RailCamp for the Scranton session . Requires that the nominee be from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area or directly nominated by a Chapter member. Additional information may be found at the Washington, D.C. Chapter's RailCamp Scholarship page.
  • Gulf Coast Chapter NRHS (Houston, Texas) - For additional information, see the scholarship information on their web site.
  • Pottstown & Reading Chapter NRHS
  • Roanoke Chapter. Requires that the nominee be from the Roanoke, VA area
  • Tri-State Chapter Requires that the nominee be from the Dover/Madison, NJ area.
  • Jersey Central Requires that the nominee be from the Roselle/Piscataway/Elizabeth, New Jersey area
  • Potomac Chapter Requires that the nominee be from the Gaithersburg/Rockville, Maryland area
  • Collis P. Huntington Chapter Requires that the nominee be from the Northern & Central WV, Southeastern OH and Northeast KY area
  • Horseshoe Curve Chapter Requires that the nominee be from the Altoona, PA area

Interested persons should contact the Chapters directly. Some Chapters may not grant scholarships annually.

In addition, RailPace Magazine offers a scholarship annually. Contact RailPace for information about this scholarship.

This list may not include all available scholarships. If your area is not listed, to inquire as to whether or not a scholarship may be available from your area, please contact the National Railway Historical Society.
